Fairyloves participation in the Fairy Festival got a mention in the Hawking e-gazette this week! Check it out!...

Away with the fairies at the spring festival

Dover actress Karol Steele had one of the most unusual gigs of her career in Canterbury on Easter Saturday.

The 47-year-old from Buckland Avenue was asked to model for the Herefordshire-based fairy costume company, Fairy Love, at the Spring Faery Festival at the Westgate Hall in the city.

Karol paraded through the city in costume handing out leaflets for the company during the Spring parade in the morning; and then she was one of the 20 models taking part in a fashion show at the Westgate Hall during the afternoon.

Karol said, "This is the first modelling gig I have taken part in since the mid-1980's when I was a carnival queen - but that one was a bit more conventional! This one was a lot of fun - it's not every day you get to dress in a tutu and walk through Canterbury dressed as a fairy! I had a great time, and made some wonderful new friends."

The festival was organised by Matthew Callow  from Dover, who is also organising another festival in Canterbury in August with special guest, 'Most Haunted' psychic medium, David Wells.
